Throughout my career, I’ve worked in many dental settings. I was a Dental Hygiene clinical instructor at a local college in Atlanta and a Dental Supply Sales Representative as well. I enjoy building relationships with my patients and educating them on the importance of their overall health. Quality patient care is very important to me, as well as helping you achieve a healthy smile. For these reasons, I am excited to be a part of Avalon Dental’s team. I live in Pace with my husband and I have a daughter and a son. I enjoy going to the beach, crafting and Georgia Bulldogs football.”

I have been in the dental field since 1999 and have worked as Dr. Ottley’s chairside assistant since 2008. Following high school, I pursued my career in dentistry, and I received my certificate in dental assisting at Pensacola Jr. College. As your dental health professional, I want you to have a positive experience. I understand how uneasy some patients may feel about their dental visits, and how I can make a difference in providing a relaxing and positive experience. I pride myself on providing the care you need to keep your smile healthy. I live in Milton with my three kids.”

My favorite part of my job is seeing the confidence that comes from giving our patients smiles that they truly love! I am originally from this area, and I currently live in Jay with my husband, daughter and our two dogs. In my spare time, I love to organize (cleaning and organizing is my therapy!), spend time with my family, travel, do craft projects, be outdoors when the weather is cool, and of course, watch football! Get to know her more. “I graduated from dental hygiene school in 1995. During the first years of my career, I had the opportunity to practice dental hygiene in several different types of dental settings. I moved to Milton and started working at Avalon Dental in 2005, and enjoy being one of their hygienists. As a hygienist, my goal is to make dental cleanings and X-rays as gentle and thorough as possible while also educating patients on how to maintain a healthy smile. I enjoy getting to know my patients personally, and I strive to make them feel welcome and appreciated when they visit the office.”

Mindy has been with us for an entire year, which means CAKE! 🎉🎂Many of you have talked to Mindy on the phone - she is our scheduling coordinator and insurance guru. She is also the first smiling face you will see when you enter our office! Get to know our Mindy. “I am originally from Ohio, but I have been living in the beautiful sunshine state since 2019. I began my dental career in 2004 as a certified dental assistant. In 2011, I transitioned to the front office and eventually made my way into management. I have always had a passion for helping people, so the transition into the dental field felt very natural for me. I am extremely passionate about my job and the patients, going the extra mile for them and the bonds you get to form with them. I take pride in providing a consistently high level of care and focus, and being a great team player. I was blessed to come across Avalon Dental's amazing team and they have made me feel like part of the family. In my spare time, I enjoy reading at the beach, and when time allows, going home to spend time with my 2 beautiful, now adult children, and my big family.”

In 2010, I transitioned to the front office after moving to Florida. I joined the team of Avalon Dental in 2012. I can honestly say I LOVE MY JOB! I enjoy working with Dr. Ottley, Dr. Mobley and our amazing team, knowing as a team we will help our patients achieve a healthy and beautiful smile they can be proud of. I also take pride in helping our patients with any questions they may have regarding their treatment plan, insurance or financial needs. I am a member of the American Association of Dental Office Management (AADOM) and our local NWFL AADOM chapter. When I am not at work, I enjoy going to the gym, reading, spending time with my family and friends and during the fall, Auburn football ... WAR EAGLE!”

Doctor spotlight! Meet Dr. Dixie Mobley 🦷 We would like to take a moment to welcome our newest member of the Avalon Dental family, Dr. Dixie Mobley! Dr. Mobley spent most of her childhood in Tequesta, Florida. After high school, she attended the University of Florida for 7 years, completing her Bachelors of Science in Biology, followed by her Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry. After completing dental school, Dr. Mobley commissioned as an officer into the United States Air Force. Dr. Mobley then went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Langley Air Force Base. Dr. Mobley currently serves as an Active Duty Air Force Captain and Dentist at Hurlburt Field. Being a Floridian at heart, Dr. Mobley has always enjoyed being out on the water, whether fishing, free diving, wakeboarding or surfing. When not getting her feet wet, Dr. Mobley spends her time cooking with loved ones or in search of new running trails. Dr. Mobley also has a 1 year-old son, Cayden, who has been the greatest joy of her life up to this point. Although Dr. Mobley and her husband, Shane, were re-located to the Panhandle by the military, Dr. Mobley coincidentally has family roots within the local area. Dr. Mobley is looking forward to serving the civilian sector of our community at Avalon Dental!

Doctor spotlight! Meet Dr. Anissa Ottley 🦷 Dr. Ottley loves meeting new patients, evaluating their dental concerns and needs, then facilitating their oral health care goals. She treasures the relationships, she has cultivated over the years with her family of patients. Dr. Ottley believes in merging friendly, comfortable dental care with current technology. Dr. Anissa Ottley was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1999. She furthered her studies at the Pankey Institute and at the Dawson Academy. She is an active member of the Escarosa Dental Society, the Florida Dental Association and the Seattle Study Club. She has also taken additional course work that allows her to make and deliver crowns in one day as well as providing cosmetic services such as Dysport/Botox and dermal fillers. Dr. Ottley is a fluent Spanish speaker and is involves in her community. She is an active member in her church and a member of IMPACT 100 since 2001. In addition to providing free dental care at such events as Mission of Mercy and Give Kids a Smile. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, gardening and Gator football.
